Trek Metals Limited (ASX: TKM) has received assay results from 31 rock chip samples collected recently at the Kroussou Lead-Zinc Project in Gabon (Figure 1).
Figure 1. Location of the Kroussou Lead-Zinc Project
Highlights from the Dikaki Prospect include:
- 29.8% zinc and lead
- 10.0% zinc and lead
- 11.3% zinc and lead
The rock chip samples were collected as part of a broader mapping project conducted at Kroussou in late 2016 and previous work completed by Battery Minerals Limited (ASX: BAT).
Zinc and lead mineralisation is hosted in Cretaceous sediments exposed on the margin of the Cotier (Coastal) Basin within preserved channels and onlapping unconformable Archean and Paleoproterozic base rocks.
Drilling is currently progressing at the Dikaki Prospect to determine the basin margin and the broader Cotier Basin stratigraphy.
