Regal Resources Limited (ASX: RER) has completed a Scoping Study at the Kalongwe Copper Project located in the Katanga Province of the Democratic Republic of Congo (Figure 1).

Highlights from the Study include:

 

  • Project Net Present Value (10% discount rate) – $77.9 million
  • Project Internal Rate of Return – 81%
  • Payback – 13 months
  • Capital Cost to Initial Production – $38.9 million
  • Operating Costs – $1.01/lb ($1.38/lb with transport costs)
  • Production Target Profile – 1.03Mt/pa
  • Total Sales Revenue – $397.3 million
  • Estimated average annual copper production – 21,249t Cu in concentrate
  • Life of Mine strip ratio – 1.52
  • Timeline to initial production – 12-16 months from Mining Licence approval
  • Product quality – 3.27% copper average ore grade over Life of Mine

 

 

The Scoping Study is based on low-level technical and economic assessments and is insufficient to support estimation of Ore Reserves or to provide assurance of an economic development case at this stage or to provide certainty that the conclusion of the Study will be realised.
