LME base metals have all declined from January to April 2020. In particular, the largest falls occurred during late March-early April 2020.
Cobalt experienced the least volume of decreases, down 8.5% year to date (Figure 1). It had an average price of US$31,261.90/tonne with a high of US$34,500.00/tonne in early February and a low of US$27,500.00/tonne in mid March 2020.
The worst performing base metal on the LME during this period is primary aluminium down 17.6% (Figure 2). It had an average price of US$1,634.10/tonne with a high of US$1,810.25/tonne in late January and a low of US$1,421.50/tonne in early April 2020.
Copper, Lead, Zinc, Tin and Nickel were all down between 11-16%.
